(ACELT1608) This kind of inferential question encourages students to explore the emotions of someone other than themselves. Some examples of key questions that could be asked in conjunction with this text are listed below: Perhaps the teacher could read the book to the whole class, all the time demonstrating good literacy practices. When read in this way, questions raised can be immediately and effectively discussed. Another way could be during small group guided reading sessions. One way this could be done is with take home books when students are required to read to an adult. It is for this reason that I believe the text should be read with an adult or indeed by an adult. ![]() ![]() Whilst this book has been written for upper primary students, the language used and the themes presented could potentially create an issue for many in terms of their comprehension of the text.
